snow!!!

it finally appears that winter has set in here in jackon. we got about 5" of snow last night and are looking forward to another 5-6" today. i'm feeling a lot more giddy about the snow this year than normal. i had no reservations about getting up at 6:00 this morning to go plow and didn't even get frustrated when i had trouble with the plow truck. i'm not really sure what's up with this, bu tit sure feels better than being grumpy about it... hope i can keep this attitude (at least until i get home and clear my own driveway!)

why blog?

ok, so i've decided to start blogging.  not really sure why.  maybe because it's what the cool kids are doing and i wanna play too!  or, maybe i can offer some insight to someone, somewhere.  whatever the reason, i'm in.

i'm not sure yet what i have in store for this blog.  there may be some woodworking updates, there will probably be some random thoughts on the state of the world (jackson, michigan in particular) and i'd like to think there will be a thought or two about my impending journey into fatherhood.  regardless of the content, i'm going to do my best to keep it all positive!  that won't be an easy thing for me but i'm looking forward to the challenge.  i think it'll be good for me.
